What QuickBooks Online is and why you need it

QuickBooks Online (QBO) is the #1 standard in accounting software for small business in the USA. About 80% of accountants work with QuickBooks. It's owned by Intuit, the same company that makes TurboTax. Why QuickBooks specifically: • Direct bank feeds — automatic import of transactions from 11,000+ financial institutions • Integrations — Stripe, PayPal, Square, Shopify, Amazon FBA, WooCommerce, Mercury, Wise, Brex • Mobile app — photograph receipts on the go • Reports — standard P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow + customizable • Multi-user — accountant access without sharing credentials • Payroll add-on — integrated payroll if you need it • The standard — all US tax software (TurboTax, ProConnect) integrates with it QuickBooks Online plans: • Simple Start ($30/mo) — for solo, up to 1 user. Basic. • Essentials ($55/mo) — multi-user, multi-currency, bill pay. • Plus ($85/mo) — inventory, project tracking, classes/locations. I recommend it to most. • Advanced ($200/mo) — for $1M+ revenue businesses with complex needs. I usually recommend Plus — it gives a small business everything it needs, including classes/locations for multi-line businesses.

Account creation and subscription

Creating a QBO account under your business. Choosing the right plan (usually Plus). We can often get a promo discount of 50% off the first 3 months through the QuickBooks ProAdvisor program.

Chart of Accounts customization

QuickBooks' default accounts are too generic. I customize them for your business: specific revenue categories (if you have multiple revenue streams), industry-specific expense categories, COGS accounts if applicable, and asset/liability accounts for loans and equipment.

Bank feeds + integrations

Connecting all bank accounts through a secure direct feed. Setting up integrations with your payment processors (Stripe, PayPal), e-commerce platforms (Shopify, Amazon), and payroll (if applicable). Each integration requires careful setup to avoid duplicating transactions.

Training your team

A 1-2 hour Zoom training with your team (or solo if you're on your own). I show you: how to create an invoice, how to pay bills, how to add new customers/vendors, and how to view basic reports. In Russian, with examples. Plus a written cheat sheet for reference.
